It comes in waves

This industry has never been what any one could call "stable"  every one who's any one in this industry knows that the work seems to come in waves..........where we cant keep up one week we starve the next.......I honestly do not know why any one would want to get into this industry for a steady cheque because it just does not happen.  It's not like the movies either.  Although there is a coolness factor to saying your a Private Investigator, People in general do not like you as you are thought of as some one who goes out of their way to entrap people for money.  I am dealing with a specific case right now on how trying to obey the law still has put me in the hot seat against a lawyer of all things.  So....the glamor is not there....the money is not there.....the prestige is not there.....the only thing i can see worth while is getting the bad guy busted for his actions.......and maybe some of the toys....but in Canada we do not carry badges or guns and we are not authority.  We simply know where to look where others do not.  This is a tough life to live it seems and running a business in it is doubly so....every one wants to be cheap and still use your tactics to gain an advantage over their opponent in what ever fashion that should present itself.  It's satisfying to bust the guy but not satisfying when the client does not "feel" like paying when the service is complete.  I must be nuts.......
